Year of the Word: The God Who Speaks

2020 is the 10th Anniversary of Verbum Domini – Pope Benedict XVI’s Apostolic Exhortation., and the 1600th anniversary of the death of St Jerome. These dates have inspired the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales to dedicate 2020 as a year focussed on the Bible and “The God Who Speaks”. You are invited to take home a copy of the Year of the Word: The God Who Speaks leaflet, available after Mass, which is full of helpful information to encourage you to study the scriptures. If you’re not sure where to start, you’ll find a link to the daily mass readings and a guide to Lectio Divina on our website: https://www.lunevalleycatholics.org.uk/prayer-and-liturgy/lectio-divina/.

World Day of Prayer

Please come along to Our Lady Immaculate on Friday 6 March at 2:00 pm to join in the World Day of Prayer. This tradition started in the nineteenth century, and we’re very fortunate in this village to have a strong ecumenical movement and good links with the other churches. The theme this year is “Rise! Take your mat, and walk!” (John 5: 2-9)

Vocations Weekend for young women

Theme: Discernment and Vocation  Dates: 28th Feb – 1 March 2020       Location: Liverpool

The weekend is organised by the sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ).  There is nothing quite like religious life – it’s an extraordinary adventure into a deep relationship with God.

If you are wondering if God is calling you to religious life and would like to find out more why not come along?  You are welcome to stay for the weekend or just come along on Saturday for the day. There will be opportunity for prayer, reflection and input, chance to ask questions and to meet others who are also wondering where God is calling them.

For more information contact Sr Lynne fcJ at lynnefcj@hotmail.com or visit our website www.fcjsisters.org
