Jesus dwells not just among us, but within us! He does so in many ways and with many degrees of intensity. The greatest and the most intense way is in the Eucharist. We need this Eucharistic presence, and we take this presence within us at least once a week. We connect with this Real Presence every time we call into Church to pray. The next intense presence of God in the world is in the Word of God. The Bible is not just a book; it is the Word of God which is alive and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces the soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12). There is a deep and real sense of His presence in the gathering of Church community; hence the Church is called the Mystical Body of Christ. Finally, there is His presence within each of us. All this is the message of today’s Gospel. Wherever we go, our God goes with us. Whatever we do, we do together with Him. May we always cherish and nourish His Presence within us every day of our lives.
…and dwells among us!
