In these dark days we need hope. Hope stirs us to be part of the kingdom of God. It is a gift that stirs us to be sharers in the fulness and happiness of His kingdom. Hope urges us to place our trust in the promises of Jesus, relying on His grace and the help of the Holy Spirit to achieve such a final goal. We need Jesus in our lives every day. To deny this need risks us becoming empty shells: Christians on the outside, but not much on the inside. If we fight off the fluff of the world and allow our need for Christ to transform our lives, then we can be what He created us to be: true images of His Love here on earth. We can be whole. We can be Christians. Advent is the season of hope. The promises of the prophets will be fulfilled. The Messiah will come to return the world to God’s original plan. Our thirst for the Messiah will be quenched in the celebration of His birth and His life within our own lives. We wait. We watch. We hope. Let our lives be a daily celebration of the presence of Christ in the world: let us be heralds of hope in both good and dark times.

now and for ever!
