The Forty Days of Lent are over!  Christ’s Sacrifice is complete, His tomb empty, and we remain. A transformation has begun.  Jesus lives and we rejoice!  The Father raised Jesus from the dead.  The Father and Son have given their Spirit to all who have a living faith in Jesus.  Yet, we can never forget the events of Holy Week.  The Passion and Death of Jesus are as much a part of us as His Resurrection.  We are united to Him.  There are many people who longing for joy and freedom at this time.   There are many poor people, sick people, people marginalised by society all needing transformation in their lives.  Offering help doesn’t just mean their immediate problems are solved, but allows people to experience Jesus present in their neighbours, friends and even in total strangers.  This teaches us all that there are no strangers in the Body of Christ. To be Catholic is to be universal.  We are Catholic when we are united to Jesus and His death and His life are reflected in every action of our lives.  We are not Catholic for ourselves but for others.  The forty days are over.  The transformation is upon the world.  The Lord is risen, His tomb empty and now we remain, in hope…

…Life is naught without Thee; aid us in our strife!
