Mgr Branson

We welcome Monsignor Branson back to the parishes this weekend and offer him our warmest thanks for being with us until Fr Luiz returns. Mass times are back to normal, with the exception of Monday 17th February. Watch this space for news about Ash Wednesday and Lenten devotions.

World Day of Prayer

Please come along to Our Lady Immaculate on Friday 6 March at 2:00 pm to join in the World Day of Prayer. This tradition started in the nineteenth century, and we’re very fortunate in this village to have a strong ecumenical movement and good links with the other churches. The theme this year is “Rise! Take your mat, and walk!” (John 5: 2-9)

St Mary’s and Our Lady’s Parish committee

As the next meeting of the committee will be the AGM it has been decided to postpone the meeting until Father Luiz returns. The meeting was to be on Monday 30th March and will now be on Monday 27th April.

Ecumenical Lenten Events – Caton

Lenten studies in Caton will take place as usual at Caton Baptist Church commencing at 7.30 pm. The first meeting will be 10th March and then weekly on 17th, 21st and 31st March. In Father’s absence we will not be hosting this year.

The annual Good Friday Walk of Witness will start at Our Lady Immaculate at 9.45 and proceed up the village to St. Paul’s.

All are very welcome to both events!

Ecumenical Lenten Groups – Hornby

‘A closer look at the Sunday readings for each week in Lent’. – Five weekly sessions to be held in Hornby at 37 Main Street commencing on Monday 2nd March at 3.30 pm or at Station House, Arkholme, on Wednesday 4th March at 7.30 pm.

Leaflets available from St Mary’s, Hornby.
