The next parish council meeting for St Mary’s and Our Lady’s will be on Monday 13th January. If there are any items you would like discussed under any other business please inform Christine Griffiths or Joe Armistead before 1st January so they can be included in the agenda. The Bishop has phoned to let us know that Fr Jimmy Langdon SJ, of St Wilfrid’s Winckley Square, Preston, died on 13 Decemer, aged 93. A great man, and a great priest. Please pray for the Jesuit community, his family and all those who have cared for him these past few years. Further details to follow in time.

Eternal Rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

Walk Through the Bible – Ecumenical Away Day

You are warmly invited to Walk Through The Bible – Old Testament. This is a Live Interactive, memorable, fun and engaging: relax and enjoy the journey as an experienced guide leads us through the timeline and geography of the Old Testament – the big overview that can unlock 39 of the books. The event is sponsored by Tunstall Deanery and Churches Together in Caton – see invitation cards at the back of church.

Saturday 18 January 10am to 4.30pm Brookhouse Methodist Church LA2 9PA. Cost £14 including workbook. Free for children aged 11-16 if accompanied by an adult. Please bring a packed lunch.

Lourdes 2020

The Pilgrimage Planning Committee has changed tour operator for the 2020 Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes and has reduced the cost quite substantially. You are encouraged to come to Lourdes with the Diocese 24 – 31 July 2020.
